Health and Wellbeing
It will be the young person's responsibility to register with a GP, Dentist and Optician; however support will be on hand to achieve this if required. Our support team will prompt and encourage young people to complete these tasks within 14 days of the placement commencing.
Our team will also regularly review young people's health during key work sessions and will encourage them to make any necessary referrals to further health care professionals as required.
To help promote healthy eating ASHS will periodically provide fresh fruit to young people, at no cost to them.
Upon entering our service young people will be provided with the contact details of the following:
- The nearest NHS walk in clinic
- Drug and alcohol services for young people
- The nearest accident and emergency department
- SARI (Support Against Racist Incidents)
- The nearest sexual health clinic
- Off the Record (counselling support service)
