Our Support

Information

ASHS specialise in providing low number shared placements in fully furnished, comfortable and well presented homes, which are staffed 24 hours a day. All staff members at ASHS seek to improve the opportunities and enhance the holistic development of our young people. We are committed to fostering a safe, therapeutic and nurturing environment which helps equip young people with the tools to achieve positively in all areas of their lives.

We recognise that most of the young people referred to the service will have experienced loss and adverse experiences within their lives and, as such, will require and benefit from caring, therapeutic staff who are appropriately responsive. It is important to our team that they form positive, sensitive relationships with our young people and all staff members are adequately supported and will receive mandatory training and regular supervision conducted by suitably qualified staff members to ensure this is able to happen.

Each young person will have a key worker and quality time will be spent on addressing any identified need e.g. work around healthy relationships, internet safety, minimising risk of exploitation, managing feelings of anger and frustration in a socially acceptable manner and independent living skills such as cooking, managing finances and job applications.

We can also offer unaccompanied asylum seeking young people 1-1 key work sessions around life, integration and language in the UK, including English language lessons.
